Punta Cana Party Boat Guide: Trips, Duration, Inclusions
2 min read

A party boat is the most popular way to spend a few hours at sea in Punta Cana: a catamaran or yacht with music, an open bar, snorkelling and a stop at the natural sand bar off the Bávaro coast. We offer 24 different trips from Bávaro with our partner operator Kimbara Travel, so here is how to tell them apart.
What almost every trip has in common
- About three hours on the water.
- Open bar with mojitos, Cuba Libre, Passion Love, rum punch, soft drinks, juices and water, and snacks.
- Snorkelling gear, life jackets, a crew that looks after you and an animation team on the shared trips.
- A stop at the natural pool and sand bar: shallow, clear water where you can swim and float. See what a sand bar day is like.
The three kinds of trip
1. Shared party catamarans. You share the boat with other guests, which gives the best atmosphere and the most affordable seat. Examples: the Sand Bar party boat or the Luxury VIP party boat. Departures usually start between 9:00 and 14:30; each page lists its own times.
2. Adults-only and themed cruises. Some trips are for adults or older teenagers and lean into the party: the adults-only party cruise, the Celebrity boat party (17+) or the hip hop party boat. Minimum ages go from 0 to 17 depending on the trip, so always check the age on the page.
3. Private boats and big groups. If you are celebrating a birthday or a bachelorette, you can rent the whole boat or choose a cruise for up to 100 guests. Read more in private boats for groups.
How to choose
- Who is coming? Families with small children should look at the minimum age on each page; groups of friends can choose the adults-only options.
- What time suits you? Morning departures are cooler; the afternoon ones give you softer light.
- How big is the group? Capacity ranges from small groups to several hundred guests, depending on the boat.
- Shared or private? Shared is livelier and cheaper per person; private lets you decide the music and the pace.
Good to know before you book
- Prices and availability are live: pick a date on any trip page and you will see exactly what is open.
- If a thunderstorm stops the boat, the operator refunds the trip or reschedules it, as set out on each page.
- Towels are not included.
