Exact meeting point

Most trips meet at the Zanzibar Watersports Center, on the beach in front of Kendwa Rocks Hotel, or at Nungwi Beach. Hotels in Nungwi and Kendwa usually get free pickup; guests elsewhere go straight to the meeting point. The details are on each trip page.

Address: Zanzibar Watersports, Kendwa y Nungwi, costa norte de Zanzíbar, Tanzania

Good to know

  • Be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before departure (20 on some trips).
  • With hotel pickup, wait at your hotel reception 10 to 15 minutes before the pickup time.
  • Dolphin sightings and the sandbank stop depend on the weather and the tides, and are not guaranteed.
  • Some dhow trips are traditional wooden boats, not luxury yachts.

What to bring

  • Swimsuit and towel.
  • Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
  • Your booking confirmation (on your phone or printed).
  • A little cash for tips or fees paid on site.

What you will see

The Indian Ocean around the north of the island.

  • Mnemba Atoll

A marine reserve known for snorkelling on coral reefs, with dolphins often seen on the way.

  • Sunsets at Kendwa and Nungwi

The beaches of the north coast face west: the best view of the sun going down over the Indian Ocean.

  • Prison Island and Nakupenda

From Stone Town: giant Aldabra tortoises on Prison Island and a white sandbank for swimming and lunch.

Experiences from Zanzibar

Choose between a shared dhow or catamaran, a day to Prison Island, or a private boat or catamaran.
